Your satisfaction as a customer is our top priority. We aim to be fair and reasonable in our policies. As such there is a certain framework that we work from to share what we expect and what customers can expect from Coastal Designer Rugs LLC.
Defective or Damaged Items are not what people expect when they order from us, nor is it our intention to disappoint our customers. Defective and Damaged items will be replaced for you. We may occasionally ask that you return the defective item to us or directly to the manufacturer. This detail will be worked out at the time of return. Please see 'Return Authorization' below for details and stipulations about returns.
Custom Items are those that deviate form stock sizes, shapes, lengths, or colors of the products. Generally speaking, custom items are not returnable under our normal compensation schedule. For instance, a customer specified sized braided rug is considered a Custom Item. See 'Return Rate' for schedule details. Normal return procedures should be followed.
These are items that are unwanted by the customer, but are not Defective/Damaged Items nor Custom Items. See 'Return Rate' for details of return value.
Please do not return items to manufacturer or Coastal Designer Rugs LLC without a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Items sent back without an RMA may be rejected or not credited to you.
We order items from several manufacturers, with many addresses and contacts. This can be confusing to know who or where to call for information. We at Coastal Designer Rugs will arrange for a return, if it becomes necessary, for you, regardless of the manufacturer. Please see our contact information on our 'Contact Us' page.
Non-Defective Returns will be considered only on orders less than 30 days old. We certainly make allowances for orders that have a lead time or have not been received within that window of time.
PLEASE CALL US TO CANCEL/MODIFY AN ORDER IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT RELY ON AN EMAIL ALONE. Please call us immediately if you want to cancel your order. We can usually stop an order before it ships without issue, and without cost. The same day the order was placed is best, as many orders leave our immediate control at the end of each day. We cannot guarantee that an email cancellation will be read in time, or, due to the necessity of spam filters, that it will even be received.
We cannot stop an order once it has shipped. This order becomes a return of 'Non-Defective Items' or 'Custom Items' as applicable. Custom orders, once manufacturing or customization has started, will be handled on a case-by-case basis. There may be some cost involved with orders that have begun production.
Non-Defective Items returned for credit must be in new/unused condition and, above all, packaged in such a way as to prevent damage to the items during shipping. Please return the items in their original packaging when applicable. Items will be evaluated upon receipt for damage and it's value adjusted. 'Defective/Damaged Items' should still be treated with care, as portions of the order may be of value to us.

100% of 'Order Value' as coastalrugs.com store credit
80% of 'Order Value' returned via the method of the original order
'Order Value' begins as sum of goods of your order. Special shipping costs such as Overnight or 2nd Day will not be considered in 'Order Value'. Some items may be subtracted from your 'Order Value' such as 'Custom items' (See Custom Items). Items that have been cut will be reduced to their next smaller size for consideration of their value, or 50% of the smallest size if no smaller size exists (i.e. a 36" stair rod cut to 32" will be credited as a 28.5" rod, depending on the manufacturer). Items that are not received in resalable condition will be removed or prorated from the 'Order Value'.
We reserve the right to collateral under certain circumstances such as non-received or in-transit returned items. This can easily be done with a credit card. The collateral charge will be returned as soon as the returned goods are received and accepted in good condition.
Samples are available for most goods available for sale at coastalrugs.com. There is too much variety to discuss each possible situation. However, some of our products have samples available as direct purchase items. Others may be obtained via an email or phone request. Any cost or shipping will be discussed at the time of inquiring about the sample. Sample cost is refunded upon return of samples to Coastal Designer Rugs. Return postage is the customer's responsibility. Option for return subject to the same time limit specified in 'Return Authorization'
Payment for Coastal Designer Rugs custom area rugs is negotiated at the time of design and commissioning. In contrast, products from our suppliers are purchased on a 100% deposit basis in behalf of our customers. The deposit covers cost of materials and production time, and no further deposit will be necessary at the time of item shipment.
While we will make every effort to accommodate the customer's requested delivery date, we cannot guarantee delivery by specific dates. Some items require significant production time that cannot be accelerated without additional costs. Even 'Overnight' or other such expedited shipping methods do not guarantee delivery. Please contact us with any questions regarding shipping times and meeting delivery dates. Always allow plenty of time for production and shipping of items.
